This is the assessment (as on Google Classroom) >
Ideas for typology – where to start >
Have a look at some examples of what typologies have been created. These are the ones we looked at in class (https://photographywithtiffany.photo.blog/typology-2/) Use these as inspiration, I also added a list of ideas to the bottom of this page to start with.
Planning – How do I write up and present the plan?
Ok, so for the assignment there are a couple of sections. The planning, the final photos (T 6, A 4), the contact sheets or original photos folder and the artist statement and reflection.
I would suggest creating 1 Google document and having all of these sections in the one document (or linked in the document)
With the planning template, I would use that as a guide and copy it into your main google doc for the assignment. You don’t need to cover all of these sections; these are just ideas on what you can write about. So start out by writing and describing your idea (or ideas) if you haven’t decided on one yet. Use the calendar/schedule on the second page to write up a timeline… eg.
| Week | Mon | Tues | Wed | Thurs | Fri | Sat | Sun |
| 7 | Working on planning section of assignment | Test shoot | Editing photos adding to feedback slides (I’m going to share these later) | ||||
| 8 | Getting feedback on images and choosing final images | Writing Artist statement and reflection | Finishing off assignment and getting ready to submit | Assignment DUE |
Artist Statement/Reflection
The same thing applies to the template for the artist statement/reflection template. Use it as a guide. The main purpose of the Artist Statement/reflection is for you to convey your goals with the images, what you were trying to convey, if there is any inspiration/links to the photographers we have looked at for your photos (you can also refer to them in your planning)
eg.
My photos were inspired by the work of …… you can see my images link to theirs through the subject matter (e.g. that person photographs kitchen utensils and I have photographed kitchen utensils). I have also reflected on the way the work is framed and the lighting as you can see in my work the light is coming from the side and that is how (photographers name) photographed.
These are the composition rules I was trying to implement in my work and how I have done it….
These are the elements and principles of art I have incorporated in my work and how I used them….

Contact sheets – without lightroom >
For contact sheets, (if you don’t have access to Lightroom) I would create a Google Drive folder with a folder of all your original unedited photos and a folder of your final photos which you link into your assignment Google Doc.
